SILCA's Pre-Waxed Race Chain arrives ready to ride: the chain is stripped of all factory grease, ultrasonically cleaned, then hot-waxed with SILCA's wax blend for long life and peak efficiency. Stripping with SILCA's own Chain Stripper promotes wax adhesion and increases single-application longevity by up to 30%.
Keeping it running
- Every ride: Wipe the chain down to remove larger debris.
- Every 100 miles: Apply a drop of Super Secret Chain Coating to each roller, backpedal 10-12 times, let it dry and wipe off the excess.
- Every 800-1,000 miles: Remove the chain, clean it in boiling water, re-treat with Secret Chain Blend hot wax, let it cure and reinstall.
