1. Purpose
Good Weather's mission is to promote inclusive bike fun in Seattle, WA, for people of all backgrounds. We are committed to creating a friendly, safe, and welcoming environment for everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, ability, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, or religion.
This Code of Conduct outlines expectations for both ride leaders and participants at Good Weather events, as well as for volunteers and representatives.
We encourage everyone participating in Good Weather activities to help create safe and positive experiences for all. Participants in Good Weather events are required to follow this Code of Conduct, which ride leaders will enforce throughout the ride and during related gatherings.

2. Core Values
The following values reflect the Good Weather community’s collective goals of Community-building, Inclusivity, Promoting bike fun, Accountability and responsibility, Collaboration and collective nature, Environmentalism, Equity.
3. Expected Behavior
These behaviors are expected of all participants in Good Weather events:
- Participate actively and authentically to support the community.
- Be inclusive, friendly, and helpful to others, including new or less experienced cyclists.
- Be respectful in your speech, actions, and event descriptions.
- Collaboration before confrontation. Collaborate to resolve conflicts before they escalate and do not escalate situations.
- Avoid demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior.
- Stay aware of your surroundings and fellow participants. Report dangerous situations or Code of Conduct violations to ride leaders.
- Respect all road and sidewalk users and public spaces during rides.
- Refrain from insulting or harassing others. Report any inappropriate behavior.
- Bring the gear you need to ride safely. Helmets, a tube to fix a flat, and a basic multitool.
- Always think ahead and ensure that your actions contribute to a positive and safe experience for everyone
4. Unacceptable Behavior
The following actions are considered harassment and will not be tolerated:
- Violence or threats as well as sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, or other discriminatory language or jokes.
- Unwelcome attention, advances, or comments.
- Any behavior that creates an unsafe or uncomfortable environment, whether due to intoxication or recklessness, will not be tolerated. Ride leaders have the right to intervene if they feel someone’s behavior poses a danger to themselves or the group.
5. Weapons Policy
Weapons, including firearms, explosives, and large knives, are not allowed at Good Weather events. If a participant is found with a weapon, they will be asked to leave. Compliance with local laws is expected.
6. Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior
Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated. Good Weather reserves the right to remove participants or ride leaders from events. Repeated or severe violations may result in a temporary or permanent ban.
If asked to stop unacceptable behavior, participants must comply immediately.
7. Reporting Guidelines
If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior, report it as soon as possible. You can email contact@goodweatherinseattle.com
Good Weather respects your privacy. Reports will be handled confidentially, and we do not involve law enforcement unless requested by the participant.
8. Scope
This Code of Conduct applies to all official Good Weather events, online spaces, and one-on-one communications within the Good Weather community. Unacceptable behavior outside of events that affects community members may also be addressed.
