Titanium GOAT V2 Gravel Frameset | Good Weather Bikes

Back at the beginning, when we started designing our first in-shop bike frame, the challenge we wanted to overcome was how to build a bike that could effectively do everything while not sacrificing anything. Of course, a dual suspension mountain bike will never be a road bike; to some degree you have to exist in grey areas between terrain optimized designs in order to make a bike functional nearly everywhere. This means choosing where your ideal conditions are and expanding the nature of design to accommodate as many tangential riding types as possible. In its earliest phases, we essentially built what now looks like a gravel bike to the rest of the industry. We just happened to make a gravel bike well before the category even existed, and we did so by trying to make the one bike that you could take out any time, any where, without hesitation.

After more than a decade of riding and building these bikes, we have made some well deserved modifications to expand the GOAT’s ideal functionality into single track and adventure cycling.

We’ve kept most of the initial geometry of the GOAT, seeing as how we love these bikes already and don’t need to reinvent the wheel. Fast enough for spirited gravel and road rides, but also excellent out on the chunkiest single track loaded up with 50+lbs of gear, our mid-trail, heavy slope head tube paired with longer chainstay length, moderate bottom bracket drop, and road seat tube angle makes for a bike capable of nearly everything.

What we did change for V2., though, are qualities that make the rough terrain even more accessible and fun:

+ Internal dropper post routing and shortened seat tube

+ Custom CNC chainstay plate for clearance up to 27.5X2.4” tire (29×2.1”)

+ Top tube bottle bosses

+ External derailleur housing guides for ease of maintenance bikepacking bag outfitting
