we are temporarily not taking on new members to the saddle library
The saddle library was built under the idea that a member could come in, try as many saddles as they want until they found the one they wanted. Once their butt was happy, we would order the saddle they liked, it would come in within a week or two, and everyone was happy.
Due to the production and inventory issues caused by the Covid-19 Pandemic, access to saddles has become increasingly difficult and when a member finds the saddle that they like, there are often estimated leads times 3,6, or even 12 months from now. This means that we can’t provide the quality service we want and leads many of the members floating between models that don’t do their pending, perfect saddle any justice.
We hope to be able to revitalize the program in the future as stock normalizes so we can help people be comfortable on their bicycles.
Every butt is different.
Your butt is special and riding a bike shouldn’t hurt. A bad saddle can ruin your ride and finding one that works for you isn’t as easy as looking up the top reviews online or buying the one your friend likes. So, inspired by like-minded shops in other cities, we’ve started Seattle’s Saddle Library.
For $40, the library membership grants you access to fit expertise and also allows you to borrow from a growing catalog of diverse saddles. When you find the right match for you, the membership fee goes to the purchase of that saddle.
How it works
Step 1 – Join the library
You Browse our selection of saddles online or stop by our shop and talk to one of the Good Weather folks about your saddle concerns and needs. From there, $40 get’s you a “Library Card.” You can try as many saddles as you like for up to one week each (see late policy below).
Step 2 – Fitting and selection of saddles to try
We’ll have a quick consultation and measure your sit bones, then send you down the right pathway for which saddles might work for you.
Step 3 – Test out saddles
Select a saddle you want to try and let us know via e-mail, phone, or in person. We’ll have it for pick up at the shop when it’s ready and help you put it on properly if needed.
Step 4 – Select a saddle
Once you’ve found the saddle that is right for you, trade in your membership for $40 off the purchase price of the saddle and we’ll order it for you.

Terms & Details & FAQ
Late Policy
It is important that you are able to spend enough time with a saddle to really know if it’s your butt-mate. That being said we need to make sure everyone has the same opportunity to try saddles by encouraging on-time returns of rented saddles. Therefore, we charge a $5/day late fee that does not go towards the cost of your saddle.
Library Hours
You can start your membership any time we are open and you can reserve a saddle for pickup immediately if it is available. Please see our store hours as listed here.
Available Saddles
We have a variety of saddles that include but are not limited to Brooks, Selle Anatomica, Fizik, Fabric…etc. If a saddle you are looking to try is currently checked out we will add you to a waitlist. If we don’t have a saddle you want to try, you can request it and we will do our best to get it for the library as resources allow.
Library Cards
Are non-transferable, non-refundable, and expire 1 year from the date of purchase.
Liability
